Kinyumba: Masculine Imbalance
Kinyumba Mutakabbir joined us here at She's SINGLE Media x Kick'n it with Kenya for the first time to tell us about his ‘ACTORvism’ and one-man monologue, Power 2 The People. "Kinyumba is no stranger to the camera, and this project, which he described as his “business card,” is the introduction to a model-turned-actor-turned-filmmaker showing what Black people have been dealing with during the Black Lives Matter protest that swept through the country (and the global community) last summer. Before this project, you may recognize him from starring in the Manny Haley trilogy True to The Game, where he plays Mike, a rugged detective from South Philly. He was also featured in FOX's hour-long drama series, (executive produced, written, and directed by LeeDaniels) STAR, where he played the love interest of Queen Latifah." To hear more, including his response to the question many are wondering, “Do you feel like the world is leading women to believe that they must adapt to masculine norms in romance to benefit from it?” Click the interview to watch.
