In an Instagram video, Mo'Nique enthusiastically shared her anticipation for the tour, expressing her excitement to reunite with Williams and connect with their fans. Prior to this announcement, Mo'Nique and her husband took to social media to address and clarify remarks made about D.L. Hughley during her appearance on Shannon Sharpe's podcast, "Club Shay Shay," which premiered the same day.
During the podcast, Mo'Nique recounted her discomfort on Hughley's radio show when confronted with uncomfortable questions from his co-hosts during a segment of "Would You Rather." Despite voicing her concerns to Hughley, she claimed her discomfort was disregarded.

Hughley, however, refuted these claims on Instagram, calling Mo'Nique a liar and asserting that he had pulled the segment in question out of respect for her wishes. Throughout the nearly three-hour conversation with Sharpe, Mo'Nique delved into candid discussions about Hollywood's racial pay disparities, her personal and professional challenges, and her complex relationships with industry peers, igniting another viral moment with her comparison of her career to that of Melissa McCarthy.
Mo'Nique asserted that had she been a white woman, her level of success could have rivaled McCarthy's, pointing to her acclaimed roles in projects like "The Parkers" and "Precious." Notably, Mo'Nique has previously made headlines for her allegations of being blackballed by Hollywood following the release of "Precious" in 2009.
