What is a Balanced Lifestyle and Why Is It Important?

We see the influencers on Instagram and their TikToks – from the gym to work to traveling high and we think, “How on earth do they do it?” Well, I know for me, sometimes I ponder this because as a single woman living in a two-bedroom apartment, I am oftentimes very lethargic and just want to curl up to a good show on Netflix. But what does it mean to have a balanced lifestyle? Balanced living means considering all aspects of your life – relationships, work, fitness, and health as well as your emotional well-being.

When it comes to relationships there are four types to consider according to Relationship and Intimacy Coaches at Practical Intimacy, Jodie Milton and Reece Stockhausen, “The four basic types of relationships are friendships, acquaintanceships, family and romantic relationships.” Having a balanced lifestyle is a good way to improve all of the relationships in your life, whether at home or in the office.

Maintaining a well-balanced lifestyle is important for your health and well-being. Why? When we are feeling overwhelmed in one or more areas of our life it can lead to physical ailments of the body and burnout. Stress is a silent killer.

According to Dr. Diana Gall, “It’s not the stressful situations that kill you, it’s how you deal with the stress that affects your health.” The good news is having a balanced lifestyle is a good way to treat and prevent stress. “Exercise has been shown to release endorphins, chemicals in the brain that elevate mood and lower stress hormones.” Therapy is also a great way to relieve stress. According to both Jodie Milton and Reece Stockhausen, “We specialize in helping people build a stronger relationship with themselves, by identifying their passions and joy, creating healthy boundaries, cultivating resilient self-love, and building sexual confidence.”

Some people also develop what is called imposter syndrome. According to Psychology Today, “People who struggle with imposter syndrome believe that they are undeserving of their achievements and the high esteem in which they are generally held.” Having a balanced lifestyle where you are both focused on measuring your achievements instead of comparing yourself to others, as well as healthy communication and boundaries with the people closest to you can aid in developing healthy behavior patterns that will help to boost your overall mood.

Recently, I had the chance to try sea moss gel from This Transformation Factory, and at first, I was thinking maybe my mild depression and increased interest in sitting on the couch and being unproductive were due to seasonal depression. However, after trying sea moss gel for a week, I can say without a doubt my mood has improved.

What is Sea Moss Gel? Before becoming a famous superfood, sea moss was used as folk medicine in places like Ireland, Scotland, Jamaica, and all across the Caribbean for many generations. In these cultures, it was known as a natural remedy to enhance the immune system and overall wellness, soothe the stomach and promote fertility (chattersource.com). A few of the minerals and vitamins found in Sea moss gel are iron, magnesium, calcium, zinc, vitamin B2, Iodine, and more…the list is quite lengthy.

By adding sea moss to your diet and routine you can hope to see an increase in energy which in turn can help you feel motivated to work out. Improved digestion, increased immunity, and healthier skin and hair to help boost your confidence amongst other things. We’ve also decided to include a list of additional wellness products that we think can be healthy for you to try as you embark on your journey to leading a more balanced lifestyle.

If you’re in a relationship, remember it’s important to maintain key platonic relationships outside of him/her to avoid codependency, needy behavior, and feeling a lack of self-worth. It is time to put you and your needs first. If you find yourself feeling sad, depressed, lacking energy, or just not motivated enough to do the things you use to enjoy, look into making some of the above changes and again, don’t be afraid to seek outside help.

Change is sometimes never easy, but the most important thing you can do for yourself is give it a try and learn new ways to improve your everyday life. A good healthy lifestyle simply means doing what makes you feel good and happy. For one person, that may mean walking a mile five times a week, traveling and posting about it to socials, eating fast food or spending time virtually with someone each day. Whatever it is, find a good balance.
