Kim Zolciak Appears Troubled as Wedding Ring Comes Off Following Kroy Biermann's Divorce Filing

by Venus Sanders

Kim Zolciak has removed her wedding ring following her estranged husband Kroy Biermann's second filing for divorce. The former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star was captured in photographs on Saturday appearing emotionally drained while engaged in a phone conversation. Wearing sweatpants and a crop top as she arrived at a church service, Zolciak was seen rubbing her brow in a distressed manner, suggesting she was in the midst of a stressful conversation.

Her wrist was adorned with a band of some sort, though its origin, whether from a hospital or another location, remains unclear. Biermann, a former NFL player, initiated divorce proceedings for the second time last week, approximately two months after the couple initially halted their initial divorce proceedings.

In his recent court filings, Biermann, 37, declared that their marriage was "irretrievably broken." He sought sole legal and physical custody of their four minor children: Kroy Jr. "KJ," 12, Kash, 11, and twins Kaia and Kane, 9. Additionally, Biermann requested child support and alimony from Zolciak, 45, and requested exclusive use of their marital residence.

The initial dissolution of their marriage turned contentious immediately, with Biermann alleging that Zolciak struggled with a gambling addiction that had "financially devastated" their family. Zolciak, in turn, accused him of substance abuse problems. In a separate filing, Biermann stated that the children required protection from Zolciak due to her alleged "abusive" behavior towards him, even in their presence.

Although the couple's 11-year union largely avoided public drama, sources have indicated that private struggles were brewing due to significant financial challenges. These difficulties led to their Georgia estate briefly facing foreclosure. Despite these issues, the couple managed to reconcile temporarily and even attended a church service together as a family.

However, TMZ reported last week that their "steep financial troubles" were a major factor in their final split. An insider shared that their disputes had escalated to arguing over unpaid bills and counting every penny.

Amid their marital turmoil, Zolciak faced a lawsuit from Saks/Capital One for allegedly neglecting to pay over $150,000 in outstanding credit card fees. Despite the financial hurdles, Zolciak's representative declined to provide a comment when approached by a She's Single.

The unraveling of Zolciak and Biermann's relationship underscores the complexities that can arise behind the scenes, even in high-profile marriages. Despite their public appearances as a united family, their financial troubles and personal conflicts have taken a toll on their bond, resulting in a second divorce filing and the emotional strain captured in Zolciak's recent photographs.
