Activities For Singles: 'The Manhattan Dinner'

by Danielle Wright

I’ve been single for 8 years, I’m practically an OG…

When it comes to this relationship stuff you have to be on your guard. Many people are sharing advice that’s either not true or true to an extent (aka they’re only telling you bits and pieces to keep you coming back).

As an individual, it's your job to fall in love with yourself and attract others, not spend all of your time scrolling through TikTok or searching up phrases like, “how do you know when someone stops loving you”. It’s time to get out and live again and [if you must] drown yourself in relationship content, why not make it fun?

When I first got my heart broken I spent hours on YouTube and Google consuming so much relationship advice from my couch that I gained about fifteen pounds. I was devastated because not only was my heart in pieces but I was looking and feeling a mess; even if my ex did come back, why would he want to stay? I let myself go.

There is a saying that goes, you attract on the outside what you are on the inside and I am a firm believer in this. If you’re broke, you’re going to attract that—man or woman. If you’re feeling insecure, you’re going to attract another insecure person. That is only because you want someone who is going to accept you at whatever point you are in life, even if that means you’re at your lowest.

Sure, we all get heartbroken at least once, but the purpose of She’s SINGLE Magazine is to help encourage men and women to not let it keep them down. Depression is a dark place to go and the best way to get over a breakup is to take on new hobbies and keep yourself busy.

At E.S.S. (#essfestival) you can roam the corridors with friends and family, visit vendors, our photo booth, and social media activation spots. Enjoy some good food and attend breakout sessions while listening to music all day long. Plus, special performances from artists and live bands. During this time you can post as much as you’d like and if you’re trying to show your ex that you’re not sitting at home waiting for them to come back, this is the perfect time to do it.

The breakout sessions are not your average boring relationship conference. No, it’s a structured environment, sure. Our speakers are licensed professionals who you can speak to one on one, listen to an hour-long presentation on various topics such as:

What Is Self-Care and Why Is It Important (here you can win gifts and prizes)

Plus, many more topics and some from astrologers who will help give you a full breakdown of your chart, your soulmate, and how to attract your next partner. This festival is a great event for those looking for a way to rebuild their independence, and courage and of course get over an ex.

The E.S.S. Relationship & Music Festival handpicks its speakers so you can expect to find quality advice from honest individuals who know what they are talking about. No offense to the self-proclaimed relationship coaches, but we’re doing the hard work for you.

We’re making sure that the advice you get is coming from trained and licensed professionals; saving you thousands in therapy bills and time wasted scrolling through social media looking for answers. Not only that, but you can request to speak to these therapists about your unique situation with either a VIP Ticket or a Meet and Greet (includes a backstage photo op with the entertainers).

We promise you won’t leave the way you came. The purpose of The E.S.S. Relationship & Music Festival is to have you feeling empowered and entertained. It’s a place where you can be yourself, let your hair down, let the tears fall, and know that there are genuine people who care and want to help you get to the other side of your healing.

To be honest, I wish there was such an environment for me when I was going through my heartbreak. It took me seven years to heal and it probably would have been a lot faster if I was spending time with like-minded individuals who understood my plight.

Too many times are we left to pick up the pieces on our own because—no matter how good their intentions may be—sometimes our immediate friends and family just can’t understand. It isn’t that they don’t want to, but that they can’t relate.

At The E.S.S. Relationship & Music Festival there are tons of people there to chat with, get to know, exchange stories, and gain new perspectives. No one is looking at you and saying, “get over it already” or “why are you still sad about that? It’s time to move on”. Take your time and heal. Attend the festival annually and have something to look forward to.
